Beaman Scholar Athlete of the Week Videos
Each week, local high school's athletic directors, teachers, counselors and/or principals will select one high school athlete to be the Scholar Athlete of the Week. The selected student will be recognized on air during halftime of a Thursday Night Lights game broadcast. All Scholar Athletes selected will have a chance of winning a $5,000 scholarship to the college or university he/she plans to attend.

Andy Pate - Week Hendersonville High School GPA: 3.94 Bio: Andrew enjoys working with kids of all ages. He not only works with kids in younger age groups, he is well respected by his peers at the high school level. Andrew has been named a Class Favorite for the first three years of his high school career. He was a coming home attendant his 9th and 10th grade years. Andrew has many leadership qualities which will serve him well in his career after high school. Because of these qualities he was named as the American Legion Boys State Delegate from Hendersonville High School in 2012 and went on to be appointed to the Governors Cabinet. Sports: 9th Grade voted MVP of 9th Grade team and Most Valuable Running Back Community Involvement: Currently President of FCA Volunteer for Crisis Pregnancy Center as mentor to Middle School Students Peer Leader for STARS at Hendersonville High School, mentoring to peers to prevent the use of drugs and alcohol. Volunteer for Flood and Storm Relief during tornado of 2008 and Flood of 2010 Currently a volunteer for Vacation Bible School at First Baptist Church of Hendersonville Serve as Volunteer for Room in the Inn serving the homeless Participated in Mission Trip to France leading English Speaking Camps for kids ages 6-16 |
