Remembering Mindy McCready

Mindy McCready was born in Fort Myers Florida on November 30, 1970. Her given name was Malinda Gayle McCready. She began singing in church at the age of 3. When Mindy was 18, she moved to Nashville and signed with BNA Records. Her first album, "Ten Thousand Angels" , was released in 1996 and sold two million copies. She had a number one hit, Guys Do It All the Time", off that album. In her career, Mindy had 14 songs and 6 of her albums on the Billboard Country Music Charts. But in recent years, she had a number of arrests, served time in jail and lost custody of her son Zander. Her boyfriend, David Wilson, killed himself in January of 2013 in their home in Heber Springs Arkansas. Mindy's father had her committed to rehabilitation in early February 2013. He claimed Mindy had been drinking and taking prescription drugs in the wake of Wilson's death. She was reportedly released after 18 hours. Police were called to Mindy's home on February 17 2013 following reports of gunshots. Officers found her body on the front porch, dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
